Join us at Double Groove on February 9th at 3pm for the launch of our brand new Harford County Pale Ale brew. Celebrate FeBREWary and Harford’s 250th anniversary by visiting all eight breweries
Harford County is celebrating its 250th anniversary this year. Double Groove Brewing was approached to come up with a commemorative beer that would represent the festivities of the year and bring our communities closer together. We were inspired to reach out to all of the Harford County breweries to make this a collaborative effort. Every Harford County brewery will be launching a uniquely brewed Pale Ale beer, which will be available at their home breweries called, "Come See About My Pale Ale."
Since it's unprecedented that all eight breweries have come together over one beer style, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect than to release the beer during FeBREWary, a month-long celebration of Maryland Craft Beer. This is such a milestone in our County’s history, that we felt this collaborative beer project was a great way to give back to the local community, honor the County’s heritage, and have some fun in the process.
The name of this beer comes from the song ‘Come See About Me,’ a Motown classic, first recorded by the Supremes. But the first person to ever drop this song as a Single was Harford County’s own, Nella Dodds. Born in Havre de Grace, her single climbed to #74 on the Billboard Top 100 songs in the fall of 1964. This soul-singer and local legend inspired each Harford County brewery to put their own spin on a classic Pale Ale. Each Pale Ale is as unique as the brewers who made them, so visit all eight Harford County breweries to try them all. Just ask for "Come See About My Pale Ale!"
